Free Food in February
We had a great turnout of workers and people needing food last month despite the cold weather.
Weatherman says the temperature will be in the mid 40′s tomorrow! Not quite a heatwave, but an improvement.
Scheduled start time for tomorrow (2/9) is 4 PM.
Don’t forget to share the news with your friends, family, and neighbors.
see you there… allen
January food delivery
The January delivery will be on Thursday, January 12 at 4PM.
It looks like it is going to be a little colder than it was last month so you may want to put a blanket in the car to keep warm while you wait.
If you want to help pass out the food, please be at the church about 3:00.
Hope to see you there… allen
Harvesters Truck tomorrow – 11/10
The Harvesters truck will be back again tomorrow (11/10) at 4PM.
As always, you should plan to get there early for a good place in line.
We still need more volunteers to pass out the food. If you want to help, be at the church by 3:15 and tell them you are there to help.
See you there.
More food coming
More food will be here on Thursday, November 10 at 4PM.
I am told that we will be getting 10 pallets again so please plan to be here.

Ten Pallets of Food!
Yes, that is what we saw when the truck pulled up in the church parking lot on October 13 – TEN pallets of food! (Last month we had 5 pallets.)
We had bottled water, potatoes, plums, lettuce, strawberries, cream cheese, bread, and more. There was more than enough food for everybody to get served.
It was a great day!
Start spreading the word that our next delivery will be at 4PM on Thursday, November 10.
Food Distribution TODAY
Our monthly food distribution from Harvesters will be today at 4PM.
We still need volunteers to help give out food. If you can help, please be at the church by 3:30.
thanks … allen
Harvesters rural food distribution in October
Our next food distribution will be on Thursday, October 13 at 4:00PM in the Bethel Assembly of God parking lot.
Here are a few things you need to know to help make things go smoothly…
- The truck does not arrive till around 4PM, but we saw last month that people do start lining up early. We will make every effort to get food to all who show up, but food is given away on a first come - first served basis. Everybody did get food last month!
- As you arrive in the parking lot please follow the directions of the volunteers directing traffic.
- Our preference is to put food in your trunk, so please clear out a spot before coming. If the trunk is not available, we can put the food in through the passenger window.
- After you are in line, a volunteer will ask you to sign in and will place a number under the windshield wiper on the passenger side. This number will tell the people at the truck how much food to give you.
- Lower your passenger window as you approach the truck so the volunteers can communicate with you.
- Turn off your radio and please refrain from smoking or using your cell phone while in the truck area. For the safety of our volunteers, we need you completely focused on them and the cars around you.
- After all food is loaded, a volunteer will take your number and close your trunk.
Leave a comment here if you have any questions.
I look forward to seeing you on the 13th.

October volunteers meeting
***10-4 update***
Because of a scheduling conflict, the volunteers meeting has cancelled.
Please plan to be at the church by 3:30 on 10/13 so we can go over a few things before the truck arrives.
There will be a volunteer meeting on Thursday, October 6 at 6:30PM in the basement of Bethel AG church in Garden City. This meeting is for all those who are interested in helping with the next distribution on 10/13 or may want to help during future food distributions.
If you want to help but are unable to attend the meeting, please be at the church by 3:30 on 10/13.
If you have any questions, leave them in the comments or contact me by email at arcook1975@gmail.com
Thanks for your help,
allen
September Harvesters report
What a great day we had yesterday!
There were a lot more people showing up to get food than we expected! Fortunately, we also had more volunteers show up to help than we expected.
A very special thanks goes out to all the volunteers that made this event possible and to all the people that allowed us to bless them with some extra food.
We were able to give about 4,800 pounds of food to over 175 families.
There was a small traffic problem yesterday, but we are already making plans to improve our traffic flow in the parking lot. We are also looking at changing a few other things to make the October distribution run a little smoother.
The Harvesters truck will return on Thursday, October 13 at 4:00PM. Hope to see you there.
Your comments and suggestions are appreciated.
